Air is the ultimate drug, everyone’s a user.
The first five and a half billion years were free,
but now we have come to the time when you have to pay.
The Price is your attention, You HAVE TO pay attention!
The cost is your responsibility.
No seriously, the cost is literally your responsibility.
Failure in these two requirements earns a reward of kicking the air habit.
BTW by “Air Habit” I mean bucket.
I had one particular “trance” experience in which all I can remember is being at the
threshold of returning to normal consciousness and having a sense of two
“presences” behind me. One says to the other: “It’s probably best that he
doesn’t remember anything this time either. Then I was “moved” across that line
back into waking consciousness.
It spurred me to think about how different states of consciousness may not
necessarily need to be entirely congruous regarding their individual realities.
That this incongruity is in itself a valuable factor of the Sorcerers Craft.
A good part of Sorcerous Praxis is designed to bridge the boundaries between
different states.
But there might be “other” purposes that are better served by keeping some
things separate.
I believe that all mysteries must necessarily have an element of paradox. Indeed
- that this is a core value of mystery which must not be dispensed with or
ignored.
Achieving epiphanic gnosis of the oneness which underlies the Magical realm and
our present collective congruity is certainly one of the more powerful
discoveries on this Path. But that can’t be all there is. There must be more.
There must be things we cannot integrate while travelling any individual
sojourn.
This leads me to believe that maintaining a sense of wonder is essential, and
that thinking there are no further mysterious depths to plumb is worse than mere
death.
